Frank Kilome- 2020 Mets Pitching Prospect

Franklin Kilome was born June 25th 1995 in the Dominican Republic. In 2013, Kilome was signed as an amatuer free agent by the Philadelphia Phillies.

He was considered a good Phillies pitching prospect as he progressed through the minors starting out with the Gulf Coat Phillies, the New York / Penn. League's Williamsport Cross Cutters, the A ball Lakewood Blue Claws in Lakewood New Jersey, the AA Clearwater Threshers & Reading Fighting Phils.

In 2017 he was added to the Phillies 40 man roster. During another season at Reading in 2018, he was traded to the New York Mets for Asdrubal Cabrera. The Mets assigned him to AA Binghamton where he went 4-9 with a 4.18 ERA striking out 42 batters in 38 innings.

He was listed as the Mets fifth ranked prospect according to MLB pipeline. Unfortunately, Kilome needed Tommy John surgery that October. Four of the Mets top six pitching prospects have had the surgery from 2016 to 2018.

He missed all of the 2019 season & is on the Mets 40 man roster as of January 2020.

Kilome is expecting a big come back & is one of the better of the next wave of young minor league Mets pitchers. He will be watched closely at Spring Training.

Killome is a fast ball hard throwing consistently in the upper 90's. already 24 years old.

Overall in his minor league career he is 22-27 with a 3.55 ERA, he has 419 strike outs with 195 walks in 471 innings pitched in 95 appearances.
