Wednesday April 25th, 2012: A crowd of 20,683 came out to Citi Field tonight to see Terry Collins Mets (10-8) take on Ozzie Guillen's Miami Marlins (7-10).

The starting pitchers for the game, were the Mets R.A. Dickey & the Marlins veteran, Mark Buehrle.

But tonight's game would be highlighted by a Mets franchise milestone, as David Wright would pass Darryl Strawberry for most RBIs in Mets Team history with 735.

Both starting pitchers, pitched well early on. R.A. Dickey & Mark Buehrle held their opponent down to just one hit through the first four innings.

In the top of the 5th, R.A. Dickey would give up a HR to Omar Infante putting the Marlins up 1-0.

In the home 6th inning, Kirk Nieuwenhuis, led off the inning getting hit by a pitch. Ruben Tejada flew out to center & Daniel Murphy grounded out to force Nieuwenhuis at second base.

David Wright stepped in & blasted Buehrle's pitch for a two run HR to left center field. The HR was significant because the two runs batted in, put him ahead of Darryl Strawberry on the Mets All Time list with 735 RBIs.

David Wright would play through the 2016 season & would finish his 14-year Mets career with 970 RBIs. He remains first in RBIs, Hits (1777) doubles (390) Runs scored (949) & walks (762). Wright is second on the Mets All Time list in HRs (242) & games played (1585).

The HR was Wright's 3rd of the season. He would hit 21 HRs, drive in 93 runs & bat .306 on the year, while playing in 156 games.

In the 8th inning, Wright was intentionally walked, with Ruben Tejada on second base & two outs.

Marlins reliever Mike Dunn then gave up a single to Lucas Duda & Ryan Webb allowed a single to pinch hitter, Mike Baxter, bringing in Wright & Duda. The Mets went on the 5-1 victory.

R.A. Dickey would take the win to go 3-1. He allowed just the one run in seven innings of work, while striking out 7 & walking one.  The loss went to Buehrle who allowed two runs on five hits in seven innings of work. Dunn also gave up a pair of runs, in just 0.2 innings of work.
