Mets & Pete Alonso Finally Reach an Agreement for 2025!

Pete Alonso is coming back to the Mets for 2025. After a long off season of frustrating negotiations, it's all settled. Pete is a Met again signing a two-year $54 million contract, making $30 million in 2025 with a $24 million player option for 2026. Now we can all move on to Spring Training & get ready for what's expected to be a big season.

With all the love Pete has shown for the Mets, New York & the fans it was hard to imagine he wanted to play anywhere else. It also never seemed there was anyone else willing to give him what the Mets gave him. David Stearns & Steve Cohen played a little hard ball along the way, probably more so because of the greedy Scott Boras than anything else.

I admired the owner's honesty at the Amazing Day at Citi Field sharing his feelings on the
negotiations.
I saw how the fans reacted that day to his opinion & how the talk around Citi Field was that everyone wanted Pete back. I think the owner & the organization got the message as negotiations picked up.

I think Pete got the message as well, I think he's happy knowing he's the highest paid first baseman in baseball too. I also think he wants to come back with purpose to prove how good he is. Most likely he will be the Mets all time HR leader & break many other records as well now that he's remaining a Met.

It's good for the fans & the history of the franchise. Pete Alonso is that important. One day his number will be retired hanging high above Citi Field & the next ballpark for future generations.
